Well after sweating profusely, feeling paranoid, and wondering if I'll have a job come next week; I finally got an answer to my contract issues. I had to contact my contracting agent to get him to spill the beans, but it was good news so I forgive him. My contract has been renewed for another 6 months! w00T!!!1!!eleventy!1! And they decided to give me my extra 3.50/hr back! So I don't have to dip into my savings or Camaro fund any longer. My bills are happily paid by my current wages ag...
Well, here we go. I've said it many times, and started many times, but this has to be the final. Today, at 3:36 PM MST, I give up smoking. I've been smoking for far too long, and I'm really more intelligent than this. My daughter doesn't need to be put through it, either. So here we go. Day 1, hour 1. And it's here for the world to see. If I screw up and pick up smoking again, I'll be sure and let you guys know. Then you can all come by and smack me one. Seriously.
I'm driving down the freeway one snowy Sunday morning, headed to church. There is close to one inch of new snow. It's almost like the three inches were rejuvinated the night before; no footsteps or other imperfections to speak of. Thankfully, the roads are pretty clear. Surprisingly for the weather conditions, traffic is moving very steadily, I'm able to maintain a speed of 60. Not bad, considering the speed limit is 75. There is someone in my passenger seat, and my daughter kept snug i...
My daughter is 20 months old, and where I think I'm doing a good job raising her, I can't help but ask myself daily; "Is she developing well? Is she on par with (or better than) other kids her age? What can I do to ensure that she continues to develop quickly and correctly?" These questions, whereas I'm sure are asked by about every parent on the planet, are especially significant to me. I didn't get a lot of the things or attention that other children got when they were young. I had...
I recently took a test drive of a Cobalt SS Supercharged. Fully loaded with Pioneer sound system, Recaro seats and a Sunroof, the car is very nice. Interior: Aside from the fact that it is obviously plastic, it is designed very well. The gauge cluster is easy to read, and the A-pillar boost gauge (goes up to 20 PSI) is a nice addition instead of crowding the gauges. The dash is nicely designed, providing everything you''d need in perfect place. Aside from the misuse of plastics, the dash ...
Egh. I had so much to write about earlier. SO MUCH! But with the 'scheduled downtime' that we experienced here, I was unable to do so. Anywho, update time. Mood: In great pain Music: Ready, Steady, GO! (FMA OST, 2nd opening theme) One of my coworkers had a dead car this morning. His secondary rad fan busted through and tore up his radiator. They want 1K to fix. I tried to explain to him that he's getting hosed, but it didn't seem to matter. He currently has a Tiburon, and h...
Alrighty guys. The story so far is that there will be a Camaro come 2010 model year, but we will not see a Firebird. Pontiac's nameplate for this Zeta-chassied, rear wheel driven, V8 monsterbeast will (80% likely) be named the GTO. Go figure. You'd think that with the serious lack of sales this last Goat had, and the fact that people quickly dismissed it as a "Grand Prix" or some ugly waste of sheetmetal with a classic badge, that GM wouldn't want to travel down that road again; that the ...
Yes I know this blog has no real direction. Give me time, I'm trying to find what direction it should take! TORONTO (Reuters) - Workers at General Motors (GM.N) of Canada Ltd. assembly plants in Oshawa, Ontario, will likely vote in favor of job cuts on Friday in hopes of securing new investment, including the contract to build GM's new Chevrolet Camaro, union officials said. I can't wait. Even with my financial troubles, I have been setting back money for this car ever since it saw it...
Hey all. Just thought you'd like an update in my life's happenings. I've been here at Ball for 6 months now, and my contract is up for renewal. It has been approved, but I found out my contracting agency had an "accounting error" and had been overpaying me 3.50/hour for the past 6 months. So now while this is in negotiation, I take a 3.50/hour pay cut, and there's no guarantee I'll get it back. Awesome, isn't it? In other news, my best bud c0ld phuz10n is off to Japan! He got accep...
Mood: Utterly depressed Music: "Daphne Descends" by The Smashing Pumpkins Geez. Things just keep piling up, one after another. My 'ex'-wife has told me that I will be keeping our daughter indefinitely. Which really, I don't mind, as I love raising her and molding her to be the best person she could be. But it is one more thing on my plate. It is nice sometimes to have a break from the stresses of being a single parent, but I guess I'm going to have to wait. On top of that, the...
Mood: Slightly Melancholy Music: "Bad Place to Earn a Living" by Lodger Well I've had this account for a while, guess I should start doing something with it. This shall be my outlet to the unknowing masses, and a way for those who can't (or refuse to) contact me to catch a glimpse of my life. So let's bring everyone up to speed with my ubercondensed life story, shall we? Not much is remembered about my life pre 8 years old for very good reasons. An abundance of mental and physical a...
